I’ve been a little too free with myself, so you’ll get lots of things from me.
It was in an email, reminding the other ladies that blog with me of our Beauty Don’t Go There’s for next week’s…
I’ve done as much of my holiday shopping on Etsy this year, which makes me giddy in many, many ways.
Are you still shopping? Have some people on your list who appreciate irony, humor, and all things British-wit? Check out the “Keep calm and carry on” Spoof calendars. You buy the PDF and print out as many as you like. There’s a video guide to help out with the printing and assembly, plus paper recommendations included with the PDF.
So, if your last-minute gifts are giving you tsurris, these are a great option. There’s one for men and one for women.
And if that doesn’t float your boat, here, have a new twist on soap on a rope. (OMG NSFW LOLWOW)
For y’all who are lighting candles tonight, may it be a warm and peaceful evening. Happy Hanukkah and have a kickin’ yule.
You know the Mr. Romance pageant at RT? The one I missed because I had to leave early to eat the bread of oppression last year?
Variety is reporting that a comedy is in the works about “a cynical guy who is forced to enter the Mr. Romance competition to win back the love of his life. The competition, which finds hunks whose photos grace the bodice-ripping covers of romance novels, is a real event.”
Oh, boy. This can’t end well.
It’s the start of Eight Crazy Nights: a giveaway every day for Hanukkah, the festival of fried foods and wrestling bits of candle wax out of the menorah after cramming the candles in their bases each night for a week-plus-one.
But that’s beside the point. Our first giveaway is for an ARC of Jessica Andersen’s Dawn Keepers. We have three to give away, and Doc Jess will select randomly from your comments, provided you answer her question:
If we posit that the world *is* going to end on 12/21/2012...what is one thing you absolutely want to do between now and then?
Leave your comment, and you’re entered to win. You have 24 hours - ready, set, go!
Here’s a book trailer that’ll make you giggle: Simone Elkeles hired some fine, fine actors to do a rap video book trailer for her book Perfect Chemistry. An opposites-attract novel about a rich girl and a boy from the barrio who end up as chemistry lab partners, the book trailer is both irritatingly catchy and very, very well done.
Elkeles says, “It’s actually a parody of my book, which is what makes it funny and hopefully viral,” and there’s a cut and uncut (?!!) version to choose from.
