Am I the only one who REMEMBERS “Murphy Brown?”
I loved that show, Silver, and my hair proves I was around to watch every new episode. Don’t let these youngsters get to you. :)

After many, many, MANY votes, I’m pleased to announce the winners in our Big Kahuna Contest, for both the Professional and Amateur divisions.
The winner in the professional division is April Martinez’s Savage City:
And, the winner in the amateur division is J. Savoy’s His Savage Secret:
Candy’s Commentary: You know, I was surprised at the number of beautiful covers we got for this contest. I thought most of the entries would be deliberately-campy-bad, though granted, most of the covers had a tongue-in-cheek air to them. In all: pleasantly surprised. Bitches got skillz, yo. When it was time for me to throw in my vote, I had a hard time deciding whether I’d go with the cover that made me laugh the hardest or whether I’d pick the cover that would actually grab my attention in a bookstore, and I finally went with the latter.
Sarah’s Commentary: I was so impressed with the quality of the covers, particularly in the sense that many of them easily conveyed that they were romances, and paranormal ones at that. There were several as well that were very sexy without overt and blatant use of man-titty. And since so many of the voters said how much they’d like to read a book housed within their chosen cover for this contest, it seems a well-designed cover can go a long way towards pushing sales. And Candy’s right - bitches got l33t skillz, yo.

A website that reviews romance novels from a couple of smart bitches who will always give it to you straight. No bullshit. No gushing--unless the author really deserves it.

I feel like I should be dabbing away a line of dribble from the side of his mouth in that first picture, bad artist! *newspaper smack* I read and loved all the books, but this movie makes me cringe baaaad. …

I’m with Lyvvie about the Love’s Baby Soft ad: that was seriously creepy in a someone-call-DCFS-right-now way. OTOH, I really enjoyed the hypothetical letters from Edward to Sarah. What a hoot.

Sarah, at least it’s not like an orange on a toothpick, but I’m sure you’d be able to dig some of those covers up, too.
