Yesterday evening, while talking with my friend, Michael:

Candy: There are two sad spots for me in this election. The first one is Joe Lieberman beating Lamont. The other is Bill Napoli being re-elected.
Michael: Napoli? Isn’t he rape bus guy? The one with the hella rape?
Candy: ...I’m not sure you have any idea how happy it makes me to hear Napoli being referred to as the rape bus guy.

There are many of us living in Connecticut who are just as shocked as you are about the Lieberman development.  Believe me, it wasn’t my doing.

I googled Naploi on election night to see how that race was going. The SB definintion of “napoli” came up before his homepage did! :cheese: It made me feel better about the way that race turned out.

Lieberman? You were upset about Lieberman?  I’m not a Democrat, but I respect the man. He is one ‘liberal’ that I would actually trust in goverment to do what is right, rather than what is considered ‘right’ by the party he used to belong to. Kind of like some democrats respect McCain.

Plus, the Dems treated Liberman horribly during the primaries. He’s a good man.

Why are you so upset about him winning?

Hey Kristin,

Sorry it took me so long to reply to you. This comment got lost in the shuffle. Anyway, I’m unhappy Lieberman was elected (note that I didn’t say whether I like or dislike him) because his political positions are not in agreement with mine. I don’t trust him to do what’s right, I trust him to do what’s right for his political career--not that he’s the only politician who does this, of course. And you speak of him doing “right” as if there was an absolute standard of that, but from my standpoint, a lot of positions he’s espoused are wrong. Not just wishy-washy “wrong for you but right for me” wrong, but morally objectionable wrong. How’s that for some absolutist cakes, eh?

I can’t believe I just read this...man I am seriously behind on the SBness..but…

I just had to say that this actually made me stand up and dance.

This is how I’m going to explain Napoli to everyone I know from now on.

“Rape bus guy.”

Brilliant.
