My resolutions:

Stop coming to Iraq so often (it really isn’t as nice as it seems in the travel brochure)

Stop biting my fingers

Finish writing the book (which I’m actually pretty close to doing, so that is the most likely of the three)

Know the answer to at least one Help a Bitch Out request

What more could a girl ask for in life?

Get my eyebrows shaped regularly

Have more sex...with my husband!

Be effortlessly chic all (a la Katie Holmes) the time, especially when I am at the supermarket and playing with my daughter (who coincidentally is the same age and has an amount of hair similar to Suri’s.  I have a confession...I was the surrogate!)

Oh yeah...write a Harlequin manuscript written.

My resolutions:

1. Keep track of what I read
2. Have more frequent sex (with my husband)
3. Clean out my closet and donate stuff I that no longer fits me.

My resolution is to improve my work habits so that when I’m stuck looking for just the right word in a scene I don’t start checking my email hoping it will fire the right synapses in my brain.

My other resolution is to further improve my work habits so I’m producing a book a year.

1) to finish that dratted PhD project

2) to finish that dratted PhD project without ordering another gazillion more books from abebooks

3) to take a real vacation this year (perhaps in Venice or Paris—hmmm)

I have a ton on goals for 2008, so my resolution is: to do something toward one of my goals every day.

My partner and I have resolved to avoid fast food for one entire year. No more french fries for the kid! Lots more cooking healthy meals.

My resolution is to have no resolutions. 2007 was a year of unexpected surprises - some great and others not so great - and it was truly one of the best years ever! So I’m resolving to stay open to what comes through the door and to enjoy what’s in front of me versus worrying about what I should be doing, etc.

In the meantime, I’m starting where I left off on my WIP and hope that my mariachi story is bought soon!

Happy new years. My resolutions are to 1. lose at least 5 lbs a month, 2. read more, 3. work on 1 & 2
my word is can, so I’ll take that as a good sign

Well, I have a new resolution since last night--never eat an entire pint of Ben and Gerry’s Ice Cream in one sitting again. After a dinner out. Ugh.

My real resolutions:
1. get out of the frickin past (that’s too hard to explain)
2. get a cover worthy of bitch snark, without writing a HQN
3. write my steampunk romance
4. get my thyroid meds straightened out so I can lose this frickin weight
5. kidnap John Krasinski or David Boreanaz

I don’t do resolutions, but I am pleased to be starting out the new year with a copy of Whitney, My Love that I found at my local UBS for 25 cents...so even if I hate it, I don’t really feel cheated! (I also saw a Laura Kinsale book there, The Shadow and the Star, but I left it for someone who likes her stuff.)

I’m afraid of resolutions.  It seems like I NEVER manage to follow-through on them.  Nevertheless, I can’t seem to resist making a few every year.  This year’s crop:

1) Just say NO! to kidney stones:  drink more water.
2) Declutter.  Too much crap in my house makes me crazy.  No, seriously.  It’s damaging to my mental health.
3) Get my money’s worth out of my treadmill by—oh, I don’t know—USING IT.
