That was ALL KINDS of awesome!
And hey, happy Independence Day to all you Americans.
I need some help finding a book that I read sometime between 1989 and 1991. It was an Elizabethan historical with a noble heroine and the hero was a fisherman, and amazingly, he was not revealed to be noble at the end of the book. The heroine's brother married her off the the hero maybe because of a debt, and while she resisted at first, they were happy. They had a daughter who they named Anjelica, but she dies after being bitten by a rat while they were out fishing. I think the brother even tries to marry the heroine off to someone else later in the book. The ending has the H/H on a ship to America, and Sir Walter Raleigh may even make an appearance.Does this ring any bells for y'all?
Help me, Smart Bitches, you're my only hope!
Senetra, Countess Knobbersley.
I still have this book in my collection from 1985! It’s RIDE THE SAVAGE SEA by Mallory Burgess.
Happy to help a Bitch out :).
Damn y’all just amaze me! Good going, Jeaniene!!!
Me too Bailey! Amazing!
Wow Jeaniene! What does your library look like? It must be amazing!
Happy early New Year to all!
Best,
Mary C.
And guessing it in one yields Le Smart Bitche Title. Stay tuned, Madame Frost.
Thanks so much Jeaniene - I’ve been trying to find this for YEARS.
So glad I still had it, Senetra! This has motivated me to send in my own “Help a Bitch out” request for a book that I read at least ten years ago, and can’t remember what it was. Nor do I still have it, because my husband during one of our (many) moves, “accidentally” threw away a huge box of my books. You know I love the man, since he’s still alive.
Sarah, wow, I can call myself Le Smart Bitche now? The New Year is looking up! :D
