Baba O’Riley arrived at 9.20pm on September 14, 2007 - 7lbs. and 7 oz. Baby and mama are just fine.
The short story: after laboring all day, we never got the party started so it moved into the OR where I had a C-section. Baba arrived happy and healthy. I am sore but there is morphine involved so I’m doing ok. We are blessed and happy to have a healthy baby boy. Thank you for all your kind thoughts throughout the day!

I know I just got off the phone with you, but HOLY SHIT, DUDE! CONGRATULATIONS! You’re amassing quite the collection of cute dudes over at your place.

I know the recovery from a C-section is difficult, but the doctor screwed up and didn’t do one when I was born, which is why I’m an only child. My mom and I were lucky to both come through the birth all right.

Congratulations! That’s a coupla handsome dudes you got there. It’s a bummer about the C-section, but at least you don’t have a bunch of broken capillaries from pushing. I swear after my last one (11+lbs) I looked like my husband was a batterer for like a week.
Take some opiates and get some rest. And then take some more opiates. And milk the recovery for all it’s worth, baby!

Baba O’Riley is a big, happy, healthy man, and I now have a sexy abdominal smile. Heh heh.

Make sure you ask for your drugs on time, and I found that the nurses tend to wait until you ask instead of bringing them on schedule.
Take it easy and let your manwhore pamper you for the next couple of weeks until you are healed.

and just in case people in ny might be similar to some here in toronto - don’t let ANYONE make you feel like another little boy is a consolation prize instead of the glorious,miraculous joy he truly is! i lost count of the people who earnestly tried to ‘encourage’ me by saying i shouldn’t worry, hopefully the next one would be a girl.
as you well know, little boys are delicious, and both the concept and reality of ‘brothers’ is very sweet.

I had two C-sections and the recovery wasn’t bad as all. You might try nursing with a pillow on your lap to keep Baba from kicking you in the incision. You might also try the “football hold” where you tuck him under your arm to nurse (like holding a football) to keep him off the incision area.

hooray for boys! I just had my second boy in May (he was in Dallas with me, in fact), and all I can say is, hooray for penis, and hooray for not having to buy new stuff! I bet Freebird is pretty psyched to meet the new squawker. I wish you all lots of sleep.

Ohh… yes - get as much Percocet as the docs will write for. Both of my kids were c-sections as well and my wonderful doc prescribed 30 - just right. I was also a happy, happy human.
