LongSnakeMoan

All right, bitches. ‘Tis another Friday, and time for another Personal Ad challenge. Guess the author, title and heroine’s name (don’t forget the heroine’s name!) correctly, and lo, find thyself the proud owner of a happy, shiny, beyootiful and always-tasteful *koff* Smart Bitch aristocratic title.

Long Snake Moan

SWF, shiftless late-night DJ, currently unemployed, appreciative of PJ Harvey and REM (among others), looking for my even flakier sister and maybe some love along the way. Hot recluses who have undergone some sort of crazy emotional trauma a plus.

Hrm, I know I can’t answer anyway since I’ve already won a title, but this is driving me nuts because it sounds soooo familiar and yet what I’m thinking of doesn’t *quite* fit.

It’s like thinking you know the answer for a crossword, but being wrong by one letter.

It’s been a little while since I’ve read the book (I liked it qute a bit) so I’m hoping I got the pertinent bits correct.

I wonder if this could be “Charlie All Night,” by Jennifer Crusie, a book I haven’t read but just ordered and am waiting to arrive ... all I remember is there’s a late-night deejay involved.

If so, Allie McGuffey appears to be the heroine’s name and Charlie Tenniel is the hero. (Same last name as the Victorian illustrator?)

Nope, not Charlie All Night. That one has a late-night DJ too, but he’s the hero, not the heroine. He doesn’t mention PJ Harvey, but he does play some Billy Joel.

Damn, well, OK ... I’m so eagerly anticipating the arrival of that Crusie book lot that I’m seeing its elements everywhere. Just like a mirage. (I did try, anyway.)

The Billy Joel scene was the best part of “Charlie All Night.” So adorable I ran off and told Hubby about it immediately, and even he said, “Awww, that’s so cute.”

A heroine who likes REM? This sounds like something I would have written. Okay, someone figure this out, because I must read it!!!

Could it be Maddie Smith in Teresa Weir’s Cool Shade?

Yayyyyy, Heather has figured it out! Congratulations to Heather, who hath proven herself to be one smart bitch indeed.

Seems like the two DJ romances I’ve read have treated me well, because I love both Charlie All Night and Cool Shade.

Is this a lesbian romance?
She’s looking for a flaky sister Djay for some hot love?
Sorry, I’m a little confused…

I’m stunned 3 of you knew this.  Actually, I’m stunned any of you knew this....

For Katyli; (chuckling) - no lesbian incestous tones to the book.  I forget why she’s looking for her sister, but it’a a good book.  I’ve read it a few times.  That’s why I knew the answer (damnit).  What’s different about Cool Shade is the hero gas agoraphobia and is afraid to leave his house.  Hero’s with that much vulnerability are rare.

I forget why she’s looking for her sister

Her sister was reported missing.

IMO, Theresa Weir is one of four Goddesses of Romance Novels. :>
