Several readers have forwarded me an announcement from the Coffeetime Yahoo Group that cover model Rob Ashton passed away on August 26, 2007.
Rob Ashton was a Zebra cover model for many years, and was a Mr. Romance Cover Model in 1996.
Mr. Ashton was most notable here at SBTB for being the model for “White Wind,” which you can also see on the “Book Covers” section of his personal site.
He also appeared on the covers of:

Very sad indeed. I don’t know if this is appropriate or not, but to me he was a ‘better’ Fabio.
The man was gorgeous. I hope he went out partying hard, over indulging in sex, drugs, booze, and underage groupies of all genders.
I know that is not reality but that’s how I would like to be remembered.
I didn’t recognize him until I checked out the RT link, then I had an ‘aha’ moment. Damn, he was a terrific looking guy. That just stinks. My sympathy goes out to his family.
Is it just me or have we lost a lot of people this summer? *sigh*

He was the only cover model I actually liked looking at (and drooling over)and I had a friend that met him and she said he was really nice guy.

I clearly must find these books. The plot also sounds kind of like Anne Maxwell’s Dancer series--Fire Dancer, Dancer’s Luck, and one other I can’t remember.
