As a newbie to e-readers, I found this whole thing disappointing. I bought it, but never saw or got any rebate in spite of putting in the code. I then tried to get it to my nook, and as a nook newbie, or maybe just an idiot or e-book newbie, I never was able to get it to show up, and now I can’t download it again without paying another $7.99.
Color me frustrated and unhappy. I’m sure it’s me being stupid, but I didn’t find any help either…
Well I can’t help you with the nook stuff but I was pretty sure that the code entitled you to a rebate (aka you get a 50% credit on your next AllRomanceBooks purchase, not this one). It was not a discount.
I have a nook, and I use e-calibre to manage all my e-book stuff. http://calibre-ebook.com/ It’s seriously awesome. As for transferring without it, when you download the book first, it’s in .acsm format, and you need to actually open that file to get the .epub format that you can put on your nook. Does that make sense?
I forgot to put in the code and emailed about it (nicely! since it was my fault) and they added the rebate to my account… but I have no idea how to use it, haha. Since I already purchased another book and there was no discount.
If you are not able to get the ebook to work via Lauren D’s instructions there is a free Adobe Digital Editions reader so you can read the book on your regular computer.
My copy of the book is being carried on the backs of several snails that are hitched together like a little team and has not yet reached my door. I look forward to reading it when it arrives. I enjoyed the chat! 😉

robinjn – you shouldn’t need to translate an ebook from All Romance with Calibre; you need to select the adobe acrobat format when you purchase the book. Once you download it to your computer, you have to plug your nook into your computer and drag the book into the My Documents folder on your nook.
When you open your nook, you have to go to My Documents to find the latest one. Unfortunately, I’ve found that the title/author doesn’t always come across.
