I know many of you are paper reading fanatics – which is absolutely awesome with sauce – but if you’re curious about trying digital reading but haven’t gathered all your pennies into one place to buy one, here’s a chance to win one, AND get a beautiful leather cover (can you tell I really like that blue?) with two free books.

First book I will download would be…. Jennifer Crusie’s Maybe This Time. Just wish 31 August would come soon. Followed by Meljean Brook and Nalini Singh. (Yes, have not yet read all their books, clearing fast tho!). And, and, Eat Pray Love if I by some chance win. (Even if not!)
First would be Lord of Scoundrels, since you’ve all talked me into it.
Second would be the whole Anne of Green Gables series, because we all need some mobile Gilbert Blythe sometimes.

1st Book? Lots I want…but I think I’d go with Nora Roberts The Search. Followed closely by Robin Owens and Jayne Castle new releases. Anything by Christina Dodd… wow…I’m glad the readers hold more than one book at a time.
First book? Oh I don’t know, I don’t know. Decision, decisions. I would have to say The Lord of the Rings followed closely by Anne of Green Gables.
I would definitely put there all the books you guys have review as A and as D (for the fun of it), but for the first…
The first would be either The Bath Tangle by Georgette Heyer or The duke and I by Julia Quinn. Both ladies have great characters – especially the independent female ones. Heyer is of course the classic, but Quinn puts in the issues (sex!) no classic ever dared to mention.
Ok, so it has to be The duke and I.
_Cryoburn_ by Lois McMaster Bujold. I know – it is not out yet, but I do have the eARC!
Then I would load the rest of her books.

The second Gail Carriger’s Blameless comes out, bam, that is the first book in there. It’s coming out in like ten days, so that counts, right?
I am looking forward to Vampire Trinity by Joey Hill, so that would probably be first.
I think I’d download the collected works of Eloisa James, Jennifer Crusie, and Evelyn C. Smith (I love Miss Melville).
I would probably also get Derek Landy’s Skullduggery Pleasant books, since I’ve just discovered them and they are amazingly awesome. How can you not love the premise of a wisecracking skeleton detective and his teenage assistant, Valkyrie Cain (aka Stephanie)?
Lois McMaster Bujold’s Vorkosigan series! Normally my first would definitely be a romance (Loretta Chase or Nalini Singh maybe) but I’ve been wanting to read Bujold for awhile now.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, I can’t enough of the series, I even bought them in hardcover for my husband since he doesn’t like reading in electronic format.
Hmmm, for a first book I might get Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal, which is a Jane-Austen-style novel only with fantasy elements (magic is real and ability with it is essential for a lady of good breeding…).
Mine would be The Talisman Ring my Gergette Heyer, because I just read such a fantastic review of it that I want to read it. This would be followed by the new Crusie and the new Pratchett as soon as they are out.
First would have to be Pride and Prejudice, in honor of my favorite author.
So many options for the second…lately I’ve been obsessed with rereading “Lord of Scoundrels,” so this would be a convenient way to have that book with me to read whenever I want.
My first would be Laurel K. Hamilton’s Circus of the Damned, followed closely by the other books in the series. The first eleven books are actually pretty good books, and after that they’re varying levels of terrible, but they’re really comforting in their terrible, since they’re terrible in all the same ways, like a sitcom that’s been on far too long.
My first book would be Reckless by Anne Stuart, as I just finished Ruthless yesterday and am currently ablaze with “fabulous, fabulous, dark, gothic, love it, fabulous” energy. My husband would appreciate it if I stop talking to him about the book.
The second book I load on it would be Blameless, I am rocking back and forth waiting for it to some out this month.
The first book I’d put on it would probably be Hitch 22 (Christopher Hitchens’ autobio) because I’ve been waiting for AGES for the paper copy from the library but they conveniently have a copy available on OverDrive. Alternately, I’d pick something trashy and worthy of a disguise (blue cover) and go with Only With Your Love (Kleypas).

Well afer I wiped away the tears of Joy… I would download all of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. Which I’m sure could run me some serious scratch. They would be followed by my Text books because as a history teacher I must constantly work on my geek status and prove to my high school students that it is all not just a front. I mean just imagine how “Cool” I would seem to 9th and 10th graders as i strut into class holding my shiny new Sony Reader!!! I’m really not to proud to beg just a little. This device would make my life just a little easier.
I just moved to outside Washington DC and would totally rock the e-reader. I would probably download an erotic romance, since that’s the next book on my list I’d like to buy.

1st book would be Robin D. Owen’s Heart Journey. I keep looking at it and putting it off, but shiny new reader? Shiny new book!
The Skull and Crossbones cover design sounds AWESOME! I would download my favorite book of all time, Bet Me by Jenny Crusie.
My very first download would be the collected works of the Bard. Because carrying Shakespeare in my Pocket (see what I did there?) would rock my stripey socks.
I’d put Bridge of Birds: A Novel of an Ancient China That Never Was by Barry Hughart on the reader. It’s not a romance, but it’s my favourite book.
And I’d knit a cosy for the reader, too. In palest pink.
My first book would be Darkfever (Fever Series #1) by Karen Marie Moning. I have to re-read the series in preparation for the last book in the series, Shadowfever. *sobs*

I would immediately load Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith because I want to read it SO BAD but am one of the poor, collegey types who not only can’t afford to buy it, but is still sweating off her library fine, so can’t check it out it either. But it looks great. It’s definitely calling my name.
My husband and I were watching a documentary on the Lord of the Rings books by JRR Tolkein last night, so I was thinking of reading the entire cycle again. That makes my first book on the Reader “The Hobbit”!
The first thing I’d do with an eReader is put the 131 ebooks I have on my desktop on it! My husband gripes at me all the time that they’re slowing down his World of Warcraft :/
The first NEW ebook I’d get would either be Jenny Crusie’s new one, or especially the Married with Zombies SBTB was so excellent to bring to my attention. The Husband typically snarks and smirks at my romance novel fixation, but zombies are something we definitely have in common- we’ve spent years revising and perfecting our family Zombie Attack Plan of Action 😛
directly32- we have 32 contingency plans in the event of a zombie attack that will lead us directly to an advantageous location.
I’d have to get all the Georgette Heyer books that aren’t available in my library system, and then The Bronte Collection. Delicious.
It would definitely be a romance… Probably the new Teresa Maderios or Eloisa James novel.

My first book would have to be Dreams Made Flesh by Anne Bishop. I love the trilogy, but that book of short stories from the same world gets reread over and over again, and I have a very tattered paper copy already. It needs to go everywhere with me, heh.
…Then, of course, I’d have to load the REST of the Black Jewels series, and then move on to a bunch of my favorites from when I was a kid—like the Prydain Chronicles, and the Dark is Rising series, and Anne of Green Gables, and work my way into all the Nora Roberts books I’ve got on my ‘need to buy’ list—and THEN start loading up my very lengthy TBR list, 🙂
ANYTHING by Sherry Thomas. I cannot get enough of her. (Not her literally, but her cracktastic story telling).
I just discovered a little website called Smashwords . . . . so many ebooks, affordably priced. Love it!! So I think I would head over there with my new Sony to load up with the PB Ryan mystery series.
My first download would be Cut and Run by Madeleine Urban. Ty and Zane are this month’s favorite couple!
