Oh ... so exciting.  Everyone I know will be getting this *next* Christmas. :)

Well, the first day back after vacation started off with consoling my mom 4,000 miles away over her dog getting hit by a car and dying in front of her.  It was then topped off by having to go to immigration and having a potential of being deported, but no one can give me a definitive answer.  It included being questioned in a room with bars on the windows, the overhead lights turned off, and a “translator” guy who’s English rivals the two years of Japanese I took 11 years ago.

But you know what?  If I had had a SB book to distract me at any part of the day, it all would have been good.  And hey, if I do get deported, this would be great for the 12 hour plane ride!  :)

Huh. How do you pronounce bosom? I’m Australian and say it how it’s spelled.

In the UK we say the ‘bo’ with a U sound, to rhyme with ‘to’, and the ‘som’ as ‘sum’ (ie when you total up numbers).

As for why it’s spelled one way and said another, that’s just English for you.  Formed as one written language from many, many different spoken dialects.  Added to which, pronunciations have changed over time: witness some of Shakespeare’s rhymes.  When he wrote them, the words sounded the same, but now one or both words are said differently.

I’m a Smart Bitch, so I need this ARC! (By the way, congrats on getting it published!) Love the cover!

As for why it’s spelled one way and said another, that’s just English for you. Formed as one written language from many, many different spoken dialects. Added to which, pronunciations have changed over time: witness some of Shakespeare’s rhymes. When he wrote them, the words sounded the same, but now one or both words are said differently.>

I have already pre-ordered one from Amazon in the UK…. and moreover, should the Randomizer pick me, I will not cancel my pre-order but lovingly compare the before and afters! :D
