So many teachable moments online, and so many options. Jane gave the outline of Scott Baio’s recent WTFery wherein he threatened to sue romance novelist Gwen Hayes because she unfollowed him on Twitter after he made some rather awful statements she disagreed with. After calls for action bounced about on Twitter, I’m happy to help Jane out.
And as a result, it’s Google Bomb time once again.
Fire up your weblogs, your web pages, your huddled templates yearning to bust some Google. Link the word “chachbag” to http://dearauthor.com/chachbag and spread the word. The more inbound links, the higher its Google result will be.
Like this: chachbag
What’s a Chachbag?
Joanie loves Chachi, and Chachi loves the CRAZY BUS. Jesus Christ, the dude clearly needs another hobby besides golf.
Why can’t you let real men be real men instead of trying to turn them into manginas?
Look, my default comment background color is lavender, and not something I can necessarily control, OK? Jeeeeeez. Stop reading Shaming Codes into everything. Speaking of which: Why must you shame me so, woman? Why?
Why must you be a feminist supremacist? Your refusal to answer the question shows the false construct of your argument and the hollowness of your defense. This is a classical apologist tack. Tsk. Tsk.
Yellow Code alert! Yellow Code alert!
Look, Jane, you’re just jealous because you’re not of the grain like I am.
Of course I am not “of the grain.” I am the grain. So deemed by Beck and company.
He may be a chachbag but just remember this,folks-Scott Baio is NOT Sancho!:
This boggles my mind. This is one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard.
Wait, Jane and Candy arguing—how is that possible? Are you arguing with yourself? Because you’re the same person, right? Is this split personality thing just so that you can use the entire RAINBOW OF SHAME? I think so.
Link made.
He’s not going away either. His rabid little fans keep @ replying me too. Honestly, I should have known better than to feed the troll.
This looks like a case of “someone’s wrong on the internet”!
ETA: Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s been acting like a jackass, but I don’t think this drama is worth the energy. It just give him more fuel to say he’s being “attacked”, blah blah. It’s like feeding a troll.
What Gwen said is the frustrating part—his followers won’t leave us alone, and he keeps having them retweet things to annoy us with. What we thought was just a cute little joke has kind of turned into a creepy thing. I guess it’s getting him back into the media spotlight a bit, and on shows like Glenn Beck, etc. so he will probably milk it for all its worth… but—I’m with Gwen—I still can’t get that damn Charles in Charge Theme Song out of my head!
I have to agree it’s just creepy on his part. Seriously one person cannot give you a bad reputation. Let alone on Twitter or a blog. Him making those comments and all the rebuttal makes him look like an ass.
Jamie:
This has turned into Tweet warfare? So, so disappointing. I knew he was a cheesemonkey but I thought he was trying to be a grown up these days.
I wonder if anyone else stopped “following” him on Twitter. And if they will get sued.
Oh. Oh. He really went on Glenn Beck. I thought that was hyperbole. Oh dear. I cannot imagine any combination that could produce a less linear transcript.
Great. Now I’m going to have to go out to my office lobby at whenever to see this Glen Beck thing. Thanks guys.
Srrsly. What a douche. Sorry! chachbag.
effects33 - because the effects of this will haunt him for 33 years.
