All right kittens! Here’s another Personal Ad Challenge. Guess the title, author and heroine’s name (for the love of God, DON’T FORGET TO INCLUDE THE HEROINE’S NAME) and win yourself a spankalicious Smart Bitch title.

Make Me Purr

SWF, hotshot doctor, soul trapped in pet cat’s body after attempting to escape a fire set by nefarious co-worker. Please help me escape this body because grooming my ass is starting to give me a serious case of the squicks. If you’re my OMGHOT ex-husband whom I divorced for rather silly reasons, even better.

I’m with her… Is this a real book?

Squicks.

Yes, it’s a real book. Obviously, it’s a paranormal romance.

No, she doesn’t really groom her ass in the book (at least, we don’t read about it if she does), but she does groom her paws and flank, and reading about it made me laugh.

I sure as hell hope it’s a paranormal but I’m not believing it until I see a title and heroine name.  This just sounds bizarre (apologies to the author if she is a frequent visitor).

Yeah, I’m dying to know if this is any good.  The description sure piques the interest...this puss is curious.

I, for one, really liked it. It’s pretty silly, and the initial misunderstanding that led to the divorce made me roll my eyes, but the author got all the cat behavior bits very, very right, and it’s definitely not your common kind of romance.

I can mail it to you if you want, Sarah.

It’s Jessica from You Again by Peggy Nicholson, a Harlequin Superromance from 1996.

YAY! We have a winner!

Woo damn, that took no time at all. And I thought I was being all clever and obscure by basing this personal ad on a category romance from the 90s.

Coronation ceremony to come soon.

If those of you who like paranormals can find a copy of this book, do check it out. It’s really fun. I really, really loved it when I first read it, but it doesn’t hold up too well on subsequent re-reads. I initially gave it an A- on AAR, but after re-reading it, I’d give it a B.

I spent way too much time trying to figure this one out. Oh well. I picked it up at the UBS, and one of these months I’ll give it a try. I can’t help but be intrigued by it.
