no prejudice here, no sir.Yesterday’s news about Ricardo the incubus nymph imprisoned for your sexual delight inside a ring gave me a hell of a laugh and it gave other people some very big ideas.

Esri Rose, who found the original auction, contacted Sherry’s Enchantments and asked if they had an incubus for ring-imprisonment purposes named “Colin.”

Yes. As in Firth.

I’ll give you a moment to fan yourselves.

Esri, in a fit of publicity wisdom, has concocted a contest: read an excerpt of her upcoming book Bound To Love Her, answer a question about the excerpt, and if you’re correct, you’re entered in a random drawing wherein YOU could win your own ring, complete with energizing pouch and an incubus named Colin.

Yes, you read that right. Colin the incubus (no word yet if he is also a nymph, though I do hope that the required elements are not at all nymph-like, ahem ahem) will arrive neatly contained in a ring, and there’s no telling whether your pride and his prejudice will meet literally or virtually. I hope the winner tells all.

I once read someone online saying that Colin Firth in the role of Darcy was unable to convey any vulnerability.  That picture was my rebuttal.

Good Lord, man!  *fans self*

I have entered the contest!

Wow, is that man hot.  Especially in 19th century clothes.

My darling partner wants to know whose going to commission a ring for an incubus with the name Hoff?  And could we stand it?

Good lord, Lilywhite, I’ve published articles about how that version of P+P is all about Colin Firth showing Mr. Darcy’s vulnerability!  Well, no, I haven’t, but I wish I had.  Cheryl Nixon has, though, and it’s a brilliant article.

It’ll be the newest grounds for divorce—alienation of affection by an incubus.

Literally or virtually or ... mmm ... horizontally.

I bet Weird Al would be amused by this.

I want to know if we are considering the moral implications of this ring-- not about having hot hot sex with creatures of the night, but about the capture and hot hot rape of a presumably innocent incubus nymph. Don’t give me the “He was asking for it” defense; compelling someone to have sex through magic would be rape, no matter who the demon has had relations with in the past.

Also, I seem to recall incubii being dangerous. Are there and safeguards in place to protect the wearer in case of a misplaced spell that gives a rape slave a chance to get back at you?

This is probably the most interesting contest I’ve ever run across. Too bad the real Colin isn’t the prize, but I think I might enter anyway. :)

Let me get this straight.  The “energizing pouch” energizes the ring, which in turn energizes his pouch?

I need to know such things.  I’m like that.  Just a slave to science, I guess.

“Colin” Bulletin: I’ve been working out the details of the ring with Sherry of Sherry’s Enchantments. The ring is sterling silver with an actual blue sapphire in it. Turns out she imports these babies from Israel, and it’s a real gemstone. Also, since I won’t know the winner’s ring size, I’m packaging it with a silver chain and a tiny frame charm with a pic of “Colin.” Winner will be chosen at random in a very novel method on April 1st. Her page for the item will be viewable as of Monday, I believe. I’ll link to it on my site.

My mind has been blown. Hmm, I used to work with a woman who was completely obsessed with Colin Firth; maybe I’d better point her thisaway!

Not sure if this is where I enter the contest but I believe the answer is they hate them and eventually kill them.
